Fillets and Chamfers On the Bottom Face of Parts
We often put edge-breaking features on the bottom side of parts when printing; the two most common tools in CAD are chamfers and fillets
the short version: use chamfers; filets often print poorly on the bottom of parts as the root of the filet leads to a large overhang
Overhangs in unexpected places
Watch out when placing fillets on the bottom of parts, as you automatically add shallow overhangs:
Too shallow to print unsupported! |

When You Really Want Fillets: Hybrid fillets
There are times when you really want to look and feel of fillets, this process approximates a fillet with no steep overhangs
Step 1: Chamfer bottom faces | Step 2: Fillet vertical edge | Step 3: Fillet upper edge of chamfer |
