Installing A Printhead
IMPORTANT: Make sure the printer is turned off and unplugged before starting the procedure. Ensure the filament is also removed.
Tools and Parts Required:
3mm Allen Hex Driver
Four M4x10mm Socket Head Bolts
Procedure
To install the printhead, hold the printhead close to the electrical connector and plug it in securely.
Slide the printhead onto the pins while holding the printhead in place.
Loosely insert one of the M4x10mm socket head bolts and tighten it with the 3mm Allen wrench.
Once the printhead is held in place by the one bolt, install the other three.
Tighten all four bolts securely with an M3 Allen wrench.
Close the printer lid.
Turn on the printer and test the printhead to ensure it is functioning properly.
Removing A Printhead
IMPORTANT: Make sure the printer is turned off and unplugged before starting the procedure. Ensure the filament is also removed.
Tools and Parts Required:
3mm Allen Hex Driver
Four M4x10mm Socket Head Bolts
Procedure
Lift the lid of the printer to gain access to the printhead.
Manually bring the printhead closer to you and locate the four bolts on the back of the printhead.
The printhead rests on two alignment pins and is fastened to the X-axis using four M4x10mm socket head bolts. Use the 3mm Allen wrench to loosen and remove the four bolts. Be sure to keep the bolts in a safe place as they will be needed later.
After removing the bolts, the printhead is only resting on the two alignment pins, be careful not to drop the printhead. It is advised to always have a hand on the printhead.
Lift the printhead off of the pins while also disconnecting the electrical connector.
The print head is now completely removed and can be set off to the side.
