Step 1: Unload Filament and Remove Print Head

To begin, follow the existing guides on our wiki for unloading the filament and removing the printhead from your machine. Once the printhead is removed, bring it to a workbench to facilitate the replacement process.

Step 2: Cut Zip Ties

Inspect your printhead for a zip tie on the part cooling duct. If your printhead is a newer model with a zip tie, cut it to release the Hotend cables. Older printheads may not have this feature, in which case you can skip this step.

Step 6: Install the New Hotend

Ensure that your new Hotend has the four heat break tubes installed, as well as the

socket head screws. Apply a small amount of Loctite 243 on the socket head screws and insert them into the printhead.

...

Gradually torque the screws to a value of 0.9 Nm going back and forth between the two screws to apply even pressure.

Info

Note: When installing the Hotend assembly, ensure that the larger chamfer faces the part cooling fan and the wires are routed around the back/bottom of the printhead.
